About Us
Who We Are
Tennis Without Limits was founded in 2021 by Ethan Singleton, a youth tennis player who desired to expose others, especially students of color, to the game of tennis. From his own experience, he knew that tennis can be considered a sport that is considered exclusive because of costs and limited access. However, Ethan desired to open access and provide exposure to those who may not before have been given the opportunity to learn the sport.
Our Cause
Youth sports in the United States have long been a constructive outlet for a child’s physical, emotional, and social development. Physical activities teach children the significance of teamwork, humility, and competition. However, rising economic inequality and the high cost of sporting pose an obstacle to many families. Financial deterrents to youth athletic participation deny children from essential development skills. To combat this issue, Tennis Without Limits provides free instruction, tennis equipment, exposure, and an encouraging support system to underserved young athletes. This non-profit organization removes financial burdens associated with sporting participation and allows children to use sports as their avenue for improved well-being.
Our Mission
Tennis Without Limits provides pro-bono tennis instruction and gear to underprivileged youth. This program offers valuable opportunities for participants on and off the court. Our players develop teamwork and problem-solving skills, receive ongoing support and boosts to their self-esteem, and experience the many benefits of jollification.
Ultimately, Tennis Without Limits exists to offer underrepresented youth exposure to the game of tennis through sports and personal development training.
Our Vision
Tennis Without Limits aims to become a valued resource that encourages and empowers underrepresented youth to pursue skill sets that can be utilized throughout all stages of their lives.
Our Founder / Executive Director
Ethan Singleton is in high school at St. Mark’s School of Texas. He founded Tennis Without Limits as an effort to make sporting a force of social good—to expand the social and physical benefits to underrepresented communities. Tennis Without Limits intends to gather resources and provide instruction to young athletes, hence removing financial burdens. A scholar athlete himself, Ethan has directly benefited from his participation as a varsity athlete in tennis, basketball, and track. Ethan has played sports non-stop since the age of four. Through Tennis Without Limits, Ethan is fully committed to affording others the health, mental, emotional, and personal development skills that he has also gained through sports.
